For the first time, the Powerball and Mega Millions are both worth more than $300 million.
Friday night's Mega Millions drawing is worth $393 million and Saturday's Powerball has risen to $356 million.
There were no winners in Wednesday's $307 million Powerball drawing, pushing Saturday's drawing up. Tuesday's Mega Millions did have a lone $1 million winner but no tickets matched the five numbers and mega ball for the then $350 million prize.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play while Mega Millions tickets are $1 each.
The big prize pools come with steep odds.
The odds of winning the Powerball are 1 in 292 million; the odds of winning the Mega Millions are 1 in 259 million.
How about a double dip this weekend: The odds of winning both are worse than 1 in 75.6 quadrillion. You’d be 6,000 times more likely to be killed by a meteorite while being attacked by a shark.
