Here's the Tampa Bay weather forecast for Sunday night and the upcoming workweek:

  • Overnight lows fall into the upper 70s
  • Chance for scattered storms each day this week
  • Keeping an eye on the tropics

Late tonight and toward morning, showers and some storms will return in the Gulf of Mexico and the coastal areas. Lows will be in the mid 70s inland to upper 70s and 80 degrees near the coast.

Moisture will vary at times through the week, but should still be enough for scattered storms each day. The location of high pressure slightly south of Tampa will continue the south to southwest flow across areas north of Tampa Bay for the first half of the week.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible from around Tampa Bay northward early near the coast, moving well inland by the afternoon. Areas south of Tampa Bay will mainly have scattered afternoon and evening storms with a more southeasterly prevailing wind.

As high pressure drifts north into the middle of the week, the chance of morning storms will shift even farther north. Most areas will see a prevailing southeast wind, so scattered storms will be around in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will remain near normal through the week.

A cold front is expected to provide a very active few days for the southeast for thunderstorms. Most of the storms will occur in the late afternoon/evenings. These storms are capable of producing heavy downpours that could lead to localized flooding.

Strong trade winds will create building seas 8-10 feet with the strongest winds across the south-central Caribbean. These marine conditions will persist across the basin through the middle of the week.
