A Tampa man has been arrested in connection with his wife's death in January.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Harold Allen, 75, was taken into custody on Monday and charged with aggravated manslaughter of an elderly or disabled adult.

Deputies said Karen Allen was extremely underweight when she died in January at age 74. An autopsy showed she weighed only 68 pounds and had signs of malnutrition and dehydration. 

Investigators said Harold Allen told them his wife had been bedridden for about three weeks and that she hadn't been seen by a doctor in five years. 

Investigators said the home was clean, had plenty of food and that Allen had the financial resources to care for his wife.
