A hundred law enforcement officials hit the streets of Pasco County on Aug. 16 for its "Enforcement Action Plan," targeting prolific offenders, code enforcement violators, and those with outstanding warrants.

  • Dozens of alleged criminals on list
  • Crews targeted west part of the county
  • Operation scheduled to continue through 5 p.m.

It was collection day for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office for just about every kind of accused criminal. The operation focused on the western portion of the county near State Road 52.

“Some of these individuals have been through the system so many times, they've been in and out of prison for anything from battery to stolen vehicles, to drugs, I mean they've pretty much done it all," said Corporal Brett Morris.

Among those arrested was Justin Hopper, wanted for felony possession of firearms. Deputies located Hopper in the Publix parking lot off State Road 52 and Little Road. Drugs were also found in the car.

During our ride-a-long, we also watched deputies arrest two women for selling drugs.

“We just want to make our presence is known that we are still out there and still watching," said Morris.

Officials said the operation would continue until around 5 p.m., picking up people with warrants, checking out tips, and generally assessing quality of life issues for residents in the targeted area.
