A 2-alarm fire tore through a large warehouse in the Dover area early Wednesday.

According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to a warehouse at 14425 Haynes Road in Dover at 2 a.m.
When Firefighters arrived on scene they reported a large warehouse building with flames and smoke through the roof. A second alarm was then called due to the fire load and size of the building.
Authorities said the 45,000-square foot warehouse was mostly abandoned, except for an area housing office furniture. About 6,000-square feet burned. There were no injuries.
A metal roof made the building unstable so firefighters found the fire from outside. Two ladder trucks were set up on each side of the building, and the initial fire attack was started.
Due to the amount of water needed to fight the fire a water tanker operation was set up. A total of seven tankers were brought to the scene. It took approximately 90 minutes to contain the fire, and approximately two hours to bring the fire under control.
The warehouse is not currently in use, and the owner advised that it was used for storage of office equipment and egg cartons.
Approximately 72 firefighters responded to the scene in 36 units.
There are no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, although fire officials said the fire does not appear suspicious.
