Evening showers end, then skies will be partly cloudy.

  • Rain chances drop again
  • Mainly PM storms
  • Good eclipse viewing

A tropical wave will be exiting to the west into the Gulf of Mexico early on Monday. Lingering moisture associated with the wave along with the sea breezes will bring scattered showers and storms over the region on Monday afternoon, especially north. Skies will be partly cloudy during the eclipse.

Thereafter, drier air over the Atlantic will move in during Monday later and early Tuesday in the wake of the wave. This will result in lower rain chances Tuesday, and especially across the Nature Coast where the driest air will be most prevalent.

Another tropical wave will approach and move across Florida and into the Gulf during Tuesday night into Wednesday. Increasing moisture with this wave will again increase rain chances during Wednesday and Thursday. Expect scattered to numerous showers and storms by Thursday. The high moisture content combined with slow moving storms will favor locally heavy rainfall amounts in some locations.

During Thursday night into Friday a cold front to the north will push high pressure to the south of our area. With moisture remaining in place along with the sea breeze scattered to numerous showers and storms will continue into Saturday. The onshore flow will favor late night and early morning showers and storms along the coast with the storms then moving to inland areas during the afternoon.
