Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Tuesday into Wednesday morning, with a preview of conditions at the end of the work week.

  • Drier air moving out
  • Moisture moving in
  • Harvey coming back to life

Drier air dominated our atmosphere again today with only a few isolated storms.  The drier air will gradually be pushed out over the next couple of days, with moisture returning.

For now, expect mostly clear skies into Wednesday morning with only an isolated chance of a storm.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.

There is a trough of low pressure with a lot of moisture to our south near the Keys. That will slowly drift northward, resulting in better rain chances gradually returning to our area.

So expect the coverage of storms to go back up to 40 percent for Wednesday afternoon.  Highs will be in the mid 90s.

Moisture will continue to increase as that trough of low pressure drifts north, bringing our rain chance up to 60 percent for Thursday into Friday.  That will bring our highs back down to around 90 at that time.

TROPICS

In the southwestern Gulf of Mexico churns the remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey.  It fell apart last weekend, but looks like it will make a comeback over the next couple of days.

It will keep the name Harvey when it redevelops into a storm.  It will move northwest toward Texas, which could result in flooding conditions for them.
