Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday, with a preview of conditions to expect this weekend.

  • Moisture increasing
  • Not as hot
  • Harvey stays west

Right on cue the moisture increased across the region today, with showers and storms returning to the area.

Any lingering showers will have a westward movement into the gulf. Otherwise, you can expect partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s for Thursday morning.

Expect a wetter pattern the next couple days as moisture continues increasing.

There is a trough of low pressure to our south that is pulling moisture northward into our area. Although that low is not developing into anything tropical, we’ll still have more showers and storms around as that low just sits nearly stationary.

The coverage of showers and storms will be in the 70 percent range. There will also be more clouds around, which will help to bring the high temperatures back down a few degrees.

Highs will be near 90 for the next few days. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.

TROPICS

In the tropics, Harvey reorganized as expected and is slowly moving through the western Gulf of Mexico.  It will head for Texas by this weekend, where it could bring a major flood threat to that region.
