A teenaged boy died Tuesday following a shooting at a Pinellas Park home on Monday.

Police were called to 6500 87th Avenue North Monday in response to a shooting, where they found 15-year-old Elijah Mayhew suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Officials said the shooting occurred around the lunchtime hour. Mayhew was transported to Bayfront Health of St. Petersburg for treatment. He died Tuesday from his injuries.
Investigators are working to confirm the circumstances behind the shooting as there were several subjects inside the house with Mayhew at the time of the shooting. Police have not said if those people were family, but police are questioning them to figure out if any charges should be filed.
Investigators are also looking into how Mayhew came into possession of the handgun and why he was home when he should have been at school.
