Here your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday on through the holiday weekend, with a preview of conditions early next week.

Later this evening, expect scattered showers and storms to wind down some. Heading into the overnight, isolated showers and storms are likely to linger in a few spots. More storms are likely to move onshore from the gulf.

After the showers and storms have calmed, skies will remain mostly cloudy. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.  

On Saturday morning, moisture gradually increases with isolated showers and storms possible along coastal areas. There will be a 70 percent chance of rain in the afternoon and evening hours. High's will be in the upper 80s to low 90s.

For Sunday there will be a chance of showers or storms along the coast in the morning.  The higher coverage of storms will be in the afternoon to evening. The rain chance is 50 percent.

Labor Day will see a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and storms developing along the sea breeze in the afternoon.  The morning is likely to be drier as winds shift to easterly. Lows for Sunday and Monday will be in the mid to upper 70s, while highs will be near 90 on Sunday to low 90s on Monday.

Possible river flooding

There will be higher rain chances today and Saturday and some of the rain could be heavy. Do not drive cars through flooded areas.

A River Flood Warning has been issued for the Cypress Creek At Worthington Gardens from this afternoon until Sunday afternoon.
* At 9 AM Friday the stage was 7.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to rise to near 8.1 feet by tomorrow morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Sunday morning.
*At 8.0 feet, flooding begins at the recreation area on State Road 54.

The Flood Warning continues for the Myakka River At Myakka River State Park until further notice.
* At 9 AM Friday the stage was 9.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to a stage of 7.7 feet by Wednesday morning.
* At 8.5 feet...Most of Myakka State Park is closed.

The Flood Warning continues for the Alafia River At Lithia until late tonight.
* At 9 AM Friday the stage was 14.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* The river is expected to fall below flood stage by tonight.
