Labor Day is this Monday, Sept. 4, and for most people it's a day off of work, which means city offices and facilities will be closing. 

Most St. Petersburg city facilities will be closed on Monday for Labor Day. During the holiday week, Sept. 4 - 8, there will be changes to trash and recycling pickup days. 

The changes for St. Petersburg residential customers are:

  • Monday collections for garbage and recycling will be made on Tuesday.
  • Tuesday collections will be Wednesday.
  • Thursday and Friday collections remain the same. Brush sites will be open on Monday, September 4.
Cities facilities closed on Monday include Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, City Hall, and Municipal Services Center downtown, libraries, recreation centers, seven neighborhood pools, Enoch Davis Center, Sunshine Center, Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center, Jamestown Apartments and Townhomes office, Coliseum, Mahaffey Theater, and Sunken Gardens' business offices. 
 
The city facilities that will be OPEN on Monday are: 
 
Three City Golf Courses (Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links, and Twin Brooks); Municipal beach concession stand (Treasure Island); Municipal Marina Ship's Store; North Shore Aquatic Complex and Walter Fuller Neighborhood Pool; Sanitation Department Brush Sites; and Sunken Gardens' attraction (business office closed).
