More rain is in the forecast for part of the Labor Day weekend, prompting Manatee County officials to advise residents to be on guard for more potential flooding.

Some residents are still cleaning up from their homes being flooded last week.

Manatee County is offering sandbags today for residents just in case floodwaters return.

In some areas, especially the hard-hit Centre Lake subdivision, about 12 inches of rain fell last weekend.

"A lot of times what happens is if there is a significant rain event and the roads start to flood you have a difficult time getting here to obtain the sandbags," said Jim McClellan, Director of Public Works and Utilities for Bradenton. "So prepared is best."

It will take months for some of the residents to work out details of receiving aid from their insurance companies and make repairs.

Some of those hard hit areas could see additional rain starting today.

Sandbags will be available at the following locations:

•Buffalo Creek Park, 7550 69th Street E., Palmetto.

•G.T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Avenue Drive W., Bradenton.

•Lakewood Ranch Park, 5350 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, Bradenton.

•Stormwater Ops, 5511 39th Street E., Bradenton.

•Rubonia Community Center, 1309 72nd St. E., Palmetto.
