A 5-year-old boy died Wednesday, Sept. 13 after he was pulled from the water at Poynter Park.

St. Pete police said Jamirreeus Broward, 5, was fishing with his family at the park Wednesday night, when just before 7 p.m. Broward's mom noticed he was missing and called police.
The Fire Rescue Dive team located Broward in the water at 7:28 p.m. and paramedics performed CPR before he was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Officials said he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
No other information has been released.
