Some of the thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rain. The ground is saturated from Irma, so heavy rain could lead to localized flooding in some locations.

This weekend features lower rain chances.

There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. The rain chance is 30 percent to 40 percent across the area.

Sunday features a 20 percent chance of storms.

Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s this weekend. Morning lows will be in the low to mid 70s.

TROPICAL:
Tropical Storm Jose is located over the southwestern Atlantic Ocean, and Tropical Depression Fourteen, located over the eastern Atlantic Ocean.

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave located about 1100 miles east of the Windward Islands have become better organized since yesterday.  Environmental conditions are conducive for development, and a tropical cyclone is expected to form over the weekend.  Tropical storm or hurricane watches could be issued for portions of the Lesser Antilles on Saturday, and interests in those islands should closely monitor the progress of this system.

TROPICS:

Tropical Storm Jose is in the Atlantic Ocean hundreds of miles east of the Bahamas.  It’s looking better organized this morning and will probably restrengthen into a hurricane today.

It’s not a threat to Florida but areas from North Carolina to New England will need to watch it next week.

Tropical Depression 14 is in the far Eastern Atlantic Ocean. It is moving west and will likely become a tropical storm today or tonight. The next name is Lee.

It will not be near any land through Wednesday but we’ll keep an eye on it.

  The Hillsborough River At Morris Bridge

* At 5 AM Friday the stage was 34.5 feet.

* Record flooding is occurring and Record flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.

* The river will continue rising to near 34.6 feet by this morning then begin falling.

* Impact...at 35.0 feet...Portions of Morris Bridge road about 3/4 of a mile south of the bridge begin to flood.

* Impact...at 32.0 feet...Flooding begins at a trailer park downstream from Morris Bridge and just upstream from the northern end of the Tampa Bypass canal.

 

 

  The Hillsborough River Near Hillsborough River State Park

* Until late Saturday night.

* At 4 AM Friday the stage was 12.7 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* The river is expected to fall below flood stage by tomorrow late evening.

* Impact...at 13.4 feet...Streets in Crystal Springs flood and homes are isolated, but no flooding into homes occurs.

* Impact...at 11.0 feet...Hillsborough River State Park is closed. Lowland flooding occurs at the mobile home park near Branchton on State Road 579.

* Impact...at 8.0 feet...Some State Park operations are suspended.

 

 

  The Alafia River At Lithia

* Until Monday afternoon.

* At 4 AM Friday the stage was 16.7 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

* The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Monday morning.

* Impact...at 15.0 feet...Additional residences downstream of State Road 640 bridge begin flooding.

* Impact...at 13.0 feet...River Drive and Squirrel Run Way downstream of State Road 640 are completely covered by water. One home begins to flood.

* Impact...at 12.0 feet...Water begins to affect River Drive and Squirrel Run Way downstream of State Road 640.

 

 

  The Withlacoochee At Trilby

* Until further notice.

* At 4 AM Friday the stage was 15.6 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* The river will continue rising to near 17.1 feet by Tuesday evening.  Additional rises may be possible thereafter.

* Impact...at 15.6 feet...Water is 2 to 3 feet over the bridge at Clay Sink road and State Road 575.

* Impact...at 15.3 feet...Riverdale trailers are flooded.

* Impact...at 14.2 feet...River road east of the river is flooded. One campsite at the park is flooded. Peterson Park is flooded and closed. One home on

  Cercelia road is isolated. The Florida Campland is flooded. Wood River Court homes are isolated. And the Withlacoochee River canoe rental is flooded.

* Impact...at 12.0 feet...Flooding begins at Lacoochee, Talisman Estates, Riverdale, and River Height Estates.

 

 

  The Withlacoochee River At Croom

* At 4 AM Friday the stage was 9.5 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

* The river will continue rising to near 10.9 feet by Tuesday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.

* Impact...at 9.0 feet...Farms and pastureland flood.

 

 

  The Cypress Creek At Worthington Gardens

* At 4 AM Friday the stage was 11.2 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Impact...at 11.0 feet...Flooding threatens two homes on State Road 54.
