Hit-and-run driver sought in fatal Manatee crash involving pedestrian

A 44-year-old Bradenton man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Daniel Marez was crossing U.S. Highway 41 in Manatee County just before 11 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.

The undescribed Ford vehicle was traveling north on 41 just past 69th Avenue West when Marez was struck. He was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Troopers said the vehicle, which is a metallic gold Ford with a missing right head light, left the scene after the crash.
