There are currently three named systems in the tropics: Jose, Lee, and Maria.

Hurricane Jose is about 250 miles E of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

While the center of Jose is forecast to remain offshore of the U.S. coast, parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will feel some impacts this week.

A Tropical Storm Watch is now in effect from the Delaware coast to southeastern Massachusetts. There will also be the potential of heavy rainfall which could lead to a risk of flooding.

Maria is now a category 5 storm, with winds up to 160 miles per hour.

As of 8 p.m. the storm is located about 15 miles east-southeast of Dominica and about 40 miles north of Martinique.

The forecast track for Maria continues to keep it well east of Florida. The western edge of the large Atlantic high, which was so strong it forced Hurricane Irma westward and brought impacts into Florida, has been eroded by Hurricane Jose and other factors.

With a slightly less strong Atlantic high, Hurricane Maria will turn more northward after it moves north of the Dominican Republic and not continue west-northwest toward Cuba as Irma did.

TD Lee is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and is forecast to be a remnant low tonight.
