  • Powerful exhibition opens at Florida Holocaust Museum
  • Exhibit features graphic drawings, paintings, prints

The Holocaust and Book of fire is Murray Zimiles’ reaction to the Holocaust as a stepson of a survivor. The exhibition features graphic drawings, paintings and prints that are “designed to propel viewers into a world of fire and devastation.”

"In this case the artist chose to create some unflinching images,” Erin Blankenship, Curator of Exhibitions and Collections, said. “Some are very graphic and strong, but we feel like it’s something that should be seen."

Zimiles also explores the themes of perceived absence of God and civilization during the Holocaust.

The exhibition will be on display through December 31. Admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, $8 for students under 18. It’s free for military, USF students with ID and children 6 and under
