Feeding Tampa Bay has opened distribution sites around the Tampa Bay Area for Hurricane Irma relief.

It’s been more than a week since Irma and many are still struggling.

“I have a big mess, lost all my food, lost everything, you know as everyone else did, boarding up the windows, I’m still cleaning up," said recipient, Dina DelRosso.

Hundreds of Pasco County residents were without power for days and many experienced flooding from the storm.

“I lost everything in the refrigerator, in my cabinets, my pantry, water just came in there," said recipient, Shirley Marco.

Over 300 people showed up at Hudson United Methodist Church to restock their homes with food.

“I'm on a fixed income so what I lost I'm trying to get something back. It's hard on a lot of people who have a monthly income and it's not a lot,” said recipient, Carol Casey. “You try to replace what you lost."

Although it’s a hard time, the community says it’s grateful for everyone coming together in this time of need.

“It does bother me that so many people are hurting, but grateful that this is here for us," said Casey.
