Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Thursday into Friday morning, with a glimpse at conditions through the start of next week.

  • Increasing rain chance
  • Higher humidity
  • Drier next week

This was the last day for the drier air to dominate. Now we’ll see an increase in atmospheric moisture, which will lead to some scattered storms over the next few days.

In the short term, expect only an isolated chance of a shower, with mostly clear skies otherwise into Friday morning.

Lows will be in the low to mid 70s.

Friday will start with mostly sunny skies but then go partly cloudy in the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 90.

Scattered showers and storms will start on the other side of the state and move westward into our area. They will continue moving west, with most of them pushing into the Gulf by the evening. There will be a 50 percent coverage of scattered showers and storms by the end of the evening.

After they’re gone we’ll go back to partly cloudy skies with lows in the in low to mid 70s.

Saturday will be very similar with quiet conditions in the morning followed by another round of scattered showers and storms in the afternoon to evening that will move westward and toward the gulf. Highs will be near 89.

The last of the storms will die down Saturday night with partly cloudy skies overnight and lows in the low to mid 70s.

Next week looks drier as atmospheric moisture drops again.
