Police said a 4-year-old girl died after accidentally pulling the trigger of a gun when she reached into her grandmother's purse for candy.

Yanelly Zoller died Sept. 14 at the Tampa home of her grandparents, Michael and Christie Zoller.

City police told the Tampa Bay Times they are investigating the incident but had no reason to doubt what happened.

Shane Zoller, the child's father, shared custody with the girl's mother.

He told police the girl only reached into the purse because she wanted candy.
