The National Football League announced Wednesday morning the Opening Day game between the Bucs and Dolphins in Miami will be played Nov. 19.

  • Bucs-Dolphins rescheduled for Nov. 19 due to threat of Hurricane Irma
  • Both teams had bye Week 11
  • Game will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The league said a day ago the game would not be played Sunday in Miami due to the approaching Category 5 hurricane. However, officials did not indicate at that time if the game would be played later or this week at a neutral site.

In its announcement, the NFL said: Due to the potential impact of Hurricane Irma, the postponed season-opening contest between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 19 in Week 11.

The game will be played at Hard Rock Stadium.

Week 11 was previously a bye week for both teams.

Tampa Bay's home opener will now be its season opener, at Raymond James Stadium Sept. 17 against the Chicago Bears.
