More than 5,000 Duke Energy customers were without power at one point Thursday morning, but the number was less than 1,000 by 3 p.m.

The majority of those were in Pinellas County, with 649 customers without power at 3 p.m. More than 541,000 customers are served in Pinellas County. Earlier Thursday, nearly 5,000 customers in Pinellas County were without power.
In St. Petersburg, the low temperature of 32 degrees hasn’t happened in 10 years! The last time the Albert Whitted airport dropped to 32 degrees was on January 3, 2008.
