On Friday, 25 budding young actors will perform their own production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." But it's not the musical that's getting the attention -- it's the students.

They have overcome their own challenges just to get on stage.

All but two of the teens have special needs.

"We have some kids with different forms of autism from light to extreme," said teacher Holley Talley. "We have kids with down syndrome, we have students with learning disabilities, we have some with social and behavioral disabilities as well."

Their teacher spent a year helping them rehearse for the big production Friday.

"It's really fun and I enjoy it," said Kyle Williams, who plays "The Beast" in the production.

Students, staff and administrators at Lennard High donated money to help pay for the set and costumes.

The students have their first performance at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the Lennard High Auditorium.

There will be another show on Jan. 26.

The public is invited to check out the production.
