  • Police say they believe suspects are juveniles

The incident happened early Sunday morning at 1:15 a.m. at the 10600 block of Oakhaven Drive, according to a news release.

Alexander Weaver, 28, allegedly saw three male suspects — who police say they believe to be juveniles — breaking into his vehicle parked at his home on 106th Avenue North.

Weaver reportedly confronted the suspects by himself and subsequently chased one of the male suspects to the 10600 block of Oakhaven Drive.

According to police, the suspect Weaver chased pulled out a firearm and shot Weaver as he continued to pursue him. All three suspects fled.

Weaver suffered from non-life threatening injuries and was treated at an area hospital. The firearm used was not reported stolen from the vehicle.

The investigation is active and ongoing, says PIO Mike Lynch.
