Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Thursday into Friday morning, with a look at conditions through the start of next week.

  • Temperatures peaked
  • Still warm into weekend
  • Long term pattern change

It was another warm day across the region, but we’ve now passed the peak of the heat. Although it will still be warm moving forward, it won’t be quite as warm into the weekend.

Skies will be mostly clear into early Friday morning. There will be some patchy fog, but it will burn off quickly after sunrise.

Morning temperatures will be in the 60s, but upper 50s for Citrus County.

Friday will feature the wind from the east again, but it will not be as strong. Therefore, you can expect the sea breeze will slowly work in from the gulf in the afternoon.

That’s important because it will allow for a slightly cooler feel near the coast. Most areas inland will still make it into the mid 80s, but about a degree or two lower than the past few days.

The beach will be the coolest location, with highs near 80.

Skies will be mostly sunny, but go partly cloudy later in the day with a tiny chance of an isolated shower.

Friday night is looking good with partly cloudy skies going mostly clear. Lows will be in the 60s to upper 50s.

Saturday and Sunday will be very similar, but the sea breeze will be a little stronger and quicker to come in from the gulf. That means highs will be a degree or two lower.

Expect upper 70s at the beach, low to mid 80s for coastal zones, and mid 80s far inland. Skies will go between mostly sunny and partly cloudy with a small chance of a late day isolated shower.

Next week will have some subtle changes from day to day, like slight wind shifts, but overall it looks like a typical early spring type of week for our area.

We won’t have record highs like this week, but it will still be warm. Highs each day next week will be in the low 80s.

Skies will be variable, but generally speaking it will be partly cloudy most days with a small chance of an isolated shower each afternoon.

A much larger pattern change is on the way for the end of next week headed into the following weekend.

We are gaining confidence by the day that we will see a cooler pattern headed into early March. The exact details aren’t known just yet, but all the signs are pointing toward some cold fronts in our area the first couple weeks of March.
