Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday into Saturday morning, with a glimpse at conditions through the end of next week.

  • Not quite as warm
  • Sea breeze off the gulf
  • Long term pattern change

Skies will be partly cloudy for early Saturday morning with some areas of patchy fog. Morning lows will be in the 60s, except for some upper 50s in Citrus to Hernando counties.

Saturday will feature a mix of sun and clouds, with just enough moisture in the late afternoon to early evening for a possible isolated shower. The chance will be small at about 20 percent.

It will still be warm this weekend, but not the record territory we were all week -- expect highs a few degrees lower.  That is due to the sea breeze that will come in from the gulf each afternoon, something that wasn’t happening all week.

With that in mind, highs will range from upper 70s at the beach to low 80s in coastal zones to mid 80s inland.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 60s.

Sunday will wrap up the weekend very similar to Saturday, with partly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of a late day small shower.

Skies will be partly cloudy Monday and Tuesday with a small chance of a shower. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s, but cooler at the beach.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the low 80s.

We’ve been talking about a pattern change coming for March, and it now appears very likely the first sign of that change is coming at the end of next week.

A cold front will be approaching and likely move through next Friday.

Although we don’t have the exact details just yet, we do know if it moves through as we expect our temperatures would drop and we would likely go back to highs in the 70s instead of the 80s.

There are even some really long term signs that it could turn cool in early to mid-March.
