A pedestrian was fatally struck Sunday night on U.S. 301 in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident happened before 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Williams Road.
A Toyota pickup truck driven by 69-year-old Barry Elliott was traveling northbound on U.S. 301.
As Elliott approached Williams Road in the left turn lane, a 33-year-old Plant City man walked in front of the vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
