Tampa police have named a suspect and a person of interest in Saturday's fatal hit-and-run.

Officers responed to the 4000 block of West Hillsborough Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. When they arrived, they found 80-year-old Felix De la Uz dead.

Witnesses told police that a white Honda Civic left the roadway, hitting a sign and electrical box, before striking De la Uz. Witnesses also told police that De la Uz pushed his wife Narda Vazquez Ruiz out of the way before he was hit. 

The Honda Civic came to a stop 500 feet away and the occupants fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. 

According to police, 31-year-old Tracy Evereth Wood has been identified as the driver of the Honda. Police said he is known to frequent the Seffner and Town 'N Country areas of Hillsborough County. Wood has an active warrant for hit and run involving death.

Police also named Miriam Marti-Benning, 43, as a passenger in the vehicle. Police said they would like to speak with her regarding the crash.
