Forty-year-old Carrie Hart was working the customer service desk at the time it was turned in.

When it wasn't claimed in 90 days, Hart said she took it home with her rather than see it thrown away.

"I had taken it with the intent of putting it on social media," Hart said. "It came home with me and it found its way into a kitchen drawer and I completely forgot about it."

Hart rediscovered the locket while cleaning a couple of weeks ago and is now hoping to reunite it with its rightful owner.

"Even though it may not have that much monetary value, the sentimental value behind it is irreplaceable," Hart said. "So i can imagine if I had lost something like that i would just be beyond consoling."

Hart estimates the locket was turned in to the lost and found at the Whole Foods on U.S. Highway 19 in Clearwater sometime between January 2015 and May 2016.
