A hearing scheduled for today in the Case Against George Zimmerman has been moved.

Attorneys for both sides will meet for a docket sounding on October 17. It's a short proceeding in which they will tell the judge whether or not they're ready for trial.

Zimmerman is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February while working as a neighborhood watch volunteer.

Zimmerman said he acted in self-defense after the teenager attacked him. However, prosecutors said Zimmerman spotted and profiled the teen and assumed he was about to commit a crime then followed him and shot him to death.

Zimmerman is currently free on $1 million.
