A prostitution sting netted 76 arrests in Osceola County.
Kissimmee police and St. Cloud police set up a decoy house and lured dozens of suspects in the course of a week.
Detectives spent part of the week targeting prostitution advertisements from websites such as backpage.com and craigslist.com. During the course of the week, detectives replied to ads on the sites and also posted a decoy add on the websites.
A doctor, a Publix manager, T-Mobile manager and a barber were included in the arrests. All suspects were charged with assignation to commit prostitution and enter a dwelling to commit prostitution, unless otherwise noted.
"Prostitution can bring with it drug related crimes, robbery and burglary. By conducting operations like this one, we are taking steps on curtailing these types of crimes within the City of Kissimmee,” said Chief Iwanski.
The investigation also targeted other criminal activity such as unlicensed contractors that use Internet-based advertisements to defraud and those dealing in stolen property. No arrests were made on those charges.
