An Osceola County man has been arrested on 240 different rape charges after he told deputies he thought his underage girlfriend was a legal adult.
Charlie Vazquez, of Kissimmee, was booked Thursday in the Osceola County Jail.
Deputies said the charges stem from Vazquez, 25, having sex with his 16-year-old girlfriend.
Vazquez told investigators he thought she was a legally emancipated teenager, a legal process that would make her a legal adult.
Deputies found out Friday that was not the case, and the teen had never been declared an adult.
Vazquez was locked up on $1.2 million bond -- $5,000 for each rape charge.
