A woman who was supposed to be babysitting is in trouble after police say she left a child alone in a hotel lobby.
And it's where police found her, and what she was -- or wasn't wearing -- that makes the story unusual.
Melbourne officers arrived at the River Palm Hotel on US 1 after midnight on August 17.
Hotel staff called because there was a 5-year-old boy in their lobby alone playing a video game. He had been there for about 45 minutes, but he had been left behind three different times that night.
Officers questioned the child, who told them his mom "at the casino."
When officers did a search of the parking lot they say they found the babysitter, topless and laying on the ground.
"In the middle of the parking lot, partially disrobed," said Sgt. Sheridan Shelley of the Melbourne Police Dept.
Officers say Stacey Kerres, 47, was barely awake and stumbling her words.
They say she admitted to them she was supposed to be watching after the child.
Police say the case was turned over to DCF, but the child is back with his mother.
