Late Wednesday afternoon, Florida's Fifth District Court of Appeals granted Mark O'Mara's request to replace Judge Kenneth Lester in the case.

The court decided that Judge Lester could, in fact be biased, and went too far in saying that Zimmerman is a "manipulator" of the law and hinted that he could hold him in contempt of court after Zimmerman did not disclose his access to more than $100,000 during his first bond hearing.

A new judge has not yet been named.

A panel of three judges reviewed the appeal and issued an opinion stating that the allegations from Zimmerman that he might not get a fair trial were sufficient to disqualify the trial judge.

Though, one of the judges did offer a dissenting opinion saying that the trial judge’s statements that Zimmerman “tried to manipulate” the system did not cross the line and require a new judge.

In a statement on George Zimmerman's website, his attorneys wrote they "expect a new judge to be assigned shortly."
