All patrolling Windermere police officers now wear a body camera.

Chief David Ogden said the department purchased 10 cameras, which will be worn by everyone on patrol.

Ogden said it was part of an effort to rebuild the agency, which has been plagued by scandal in recent years, and improve accountability.

"We want to be transparent in this police department. We certainly all know that we have a history here. And I think I can tell you, we've done a tremendous turnaround. And the officers we have do a great job for the residents here. This help officers, and it helps citizens," said Ogden.

Ogden said the body cams and software cost about $10,000, but he was able to obtain grant money to help cut the costs.
