There could be more delays and cancellations for anyone flying Allegiant Air Sunday and Monday.

A spokesman says that's because these tend to be busier days for the airline.

On Friday Allegiant announced it was taking all active MD-80 planes out of services for maintenance.

Crews are inspecting each of the planes' four slides after an issue forced an emergency evacuation Thursday night.

The Las Vegas-based airline says it is offering vouchers for future travel flights if you are delayed, and full refunds and vouchers for flights that are canceled.

Allegiant recommends you should arrive at least two hours before your flight, and be at the gate at least 45 minutes in advance, so you can be notified if there's an issue.

Allegiant flies out of Orlando-Sanford International Airport and St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport.

Allegiant teams are working to accommodate all affected passengers and will offer the following compensation:

  • Flights delayed less than four hours: $100 voucher for future travel
  • Flights delayed 4-6 hours: $150 off voucher for future travel
  • Flights delayed 6 or more hours: $200 voucher for future travel
  • Reschedule flights: Full refund and $200 voucher for future travel

For passengers delayed overnight, hotel accommodations and meals will be provided. For travel and compensation questions, please call Allegiant Customer Care at (702) 505-8888.
