AAA claims we have freefalling gas prices and some places dropping below $3 a gallon!

Tameka Tatum had to give the gas station sign a second glance.  The Citgo gas station near the intersection of Forest City Road and West Kennedy Boulevard was selling gas at $2.95 a gallon and she wasn’t the only one.

“I could believe it at first. $2.95. No one else has that,” Dewitt Love said.

That’s why the parking lot was packed as people got out of work.

Gas prices have been falling and it’s helping people like Ardelan Jordan Aboodi, a pizza delivery man from Anthony’s in Thornton Park.

“If they keep going down that would be great,” Aboodi said.

There’s a couple of reasons for the cheap price. According to AAA oil prices have been the cheapest that they’ve been in two years.

They said the demand for gas is falling and the domestic and global oil supplies are soaring – the highest level in 30 years.

Plus, they said gas stations are now selling the less expensive winter blend fuel.

"You see I drive a minivan," Arthur Martinez said. "I got two kids, I’m a college student, and I work. It helps me.”

The state average in Florida is $3.21 a gallon. That’s about 10 cents cheaper than what it was a month ago.

AAA anticipates the price average statewide to be at around $3 by Thanksgiving.

AAA reports prices should continue to drop through the rest of the year.
