First lady Michelle Obama visited Orlando Friday afternoon hoping to energize Charlie Crist supporters. The first lady stressed the need for minorities and women to get to the polls if they want a Democrat in the Governor’s mansion come November.

Hundreds of Crist supporters packed the Barnett Park gymnasium to hear the first lady and others speak on the importance of voting.

Charlie Crist's running mate Annette Tedeao took to the stage first - rallying the Latinos in the crowd.

"Si se puede" or "yes we can," they chanted. The message going out to all supporters - if you want a change in the Tallahassee, you have to get out to vote.

As Charlie Crist took the stage to introduce the first lady, someone yelled a question from the crowd. "Where is the fan?"

Crist shouted right back and pointed beneath the podium where he was standing, "Its right here, and you are my fan!

A short time later, Mrs. Obama told supporters that Barak Obama won the presidency because of grassroots voting campaigns just like the one they attended Friday.

"That is why Barak Obama is president right now. Because a whole bunch of folks who never voted before showed up to vote in 2008 and 2012,” she said.

Supporters say the heard the message loud and clear.

Mrs. Obama and Charlie Crist, who arrived much later than expected, were whisked away at the end of a meet and greet session to head to another rally in Miami.
