Hunt Industrial Park — Lake County's largest flexible-use industrial complex consisting of commercial, industrial, retail, warehouse and manufacturing space — is expanding.

Having recently closed on an additional 5.2-acre parcel directly to the north, owner Donnie Hunt hopes to attract another 50 businesses, soon making the complex home to more than 100 companies and adding hundreds of local jobs.

"We have been receiving calls weekly from businesses that want to be in our facility," Hunt said. "We've created one of the most diverse networking opportunities in south Lake County, and we believe our plans will take us and Groveland to the next level."

The next phase of expansion will add three more buildings of flexible office and warehouse space, a 13,200-square-foot storefront building and a full-service professional incubator office building.

Tenants can customize their space. The facility also provides free Internet access, free conference room usage and access to forklifts and docks.

"Hunt Industrial Park facilitates the creation of jobs by providing full service industrial/commercial space," said Paul Simmons, Lake County Economic Development and Tourism coordinator. "The occupancy rate achieved by Donnie Hunt is a testament to his ability to incubate and grow businesses in his facility. Hunt takes a hands-on approach to foster the success of his tenants."

Hunt Industrial Park's first phase opened in 2004 with nearly 54,000 square feet. It expanded in 2008 by more than 103,000 square feet. By 2013, the facility was at 100 percent occupancy, with 60 tenants.
