A Lake County group is starting the Thanksgiving celebration a little early.

Groveland Cares is hosting its annual free Thanksgiving dinner Saturday.

The event is from noon until 4 p.m. at the Lake David Center on South Lake Avenue.

This is the eighth year for the dinner, but Groveland Cares took it over about six years ago and runs it without any sponsorship from the city.

Former Groveland Mayor Mike Radzik is on the board of directors. He said the group plans to service about 400 meals this year. Everyone is welcome.

The dinner is made possible through community support and from local businesses.

Groveland Cares is looking for donations of vegetables, canned cranberry sauce and desserts. They also also looking for money to purchase turkey and other side dishes, and they are looking for volunteers to help serve.

If you are interested in helping out, you can call Mike Radzik at 407-408-7809.
