The numbers are in and as predicted, Black Friday sales fell this year.

A new report done by ShopperTrak says that Americans spent just over $9 billion at stores on Friday.

That's down 7 percent compared to last year.

However, because a lot of stores opened early on Thanksgiving, those sales jumped 24 percent, to $3.2 billion not including online sales.

Despite the Black Friday bust, the National Retail Federation predicts that sales will increase this holiday season by more than 5 percent.
