Leapfrog is a nonprofit group that annually ranks hospitals based on safety and quality.
Nemours was one of just nine children's hospitals nationwide to be recognized. Nemours was the only children's hospital in the Southeastern U.S. to earn the recognition.
Leapfrog's "Top Hospital" award is widely acknowledged as one of the most prestigious distinctions any hospital can achieve in the U.S. The selection is based on patient safety and quality, three critical areas of hospital care: how patients fare, resource use and management structures established to prevent errors.
