A "suspicious" vehicle at Universal Orlando Resort evacuated part of the parking garage Saturday night before police deemed it safe following several hours of investigating overnight.

Hundreds of guests at the theme park were stranded when police evacuated the "King Kong" parking area on the fourth floor of the north parking garage, near Universal CityWalk.

Orlando police responded to calls from Universal staff about a suspicious vehicle and driver in that area of the parking garage around 7 p.m. Saturday.

Police and Orlando Fire Rescue finally deemed the sutation to be non-hazardous and gave the all clear just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was injured, and no arrests have been made.

Police did not immediately say why they thought the vehicle or the driver were deemed suspicious.

Universal Orlando closed at 8 p.m. Many frustrated theme park guests called into our newsroom, including families visiting from out of state, wanting to know what was going on, or whether Universal would put them up for the night. To our knowledge, that was not offered to any of the guests.

Viewers took to our Facebook page to air their frustrations:

No one offered us anything as we waited and waited. Finally we left on foot and kept trying to contact universal to find out if we could come back for our car and couldn't get anyone. Finally got someone at Margaritaville to answer telling us it's still shut down with no ETA. Real fun trying to cross Kirkman on foot in the dark! ~ Lisa N Charlie

My pregnant wife and I waited for a cab then had to pick up our daughter in a cab and go home. An hour and a half later we get home and Universal did not give the driver a voucher to pay for the cab. We had to pay $66 out of pocket to cover the cab. I am furious and other people need to know how terrible Universal Orlando's customer service is!!! Now I have to take an hour long cab back to Universal in the morning when I had no plans to go there tomorrow! ~ Philip Bustraan

Some viewers said Universal paid for cab rides for them.

On Sunday morning, Tom Schroder, a spokesman for Universal Orlando Resort issued the following statement:

"Last night we said that we noticed something suspicious, took all the right precautions and contacted the police. All I would add by way of update is that operations are back to normal this morning."
