Jury selection in Brandon Bradley's first-degree murder trial in Brevard County is behind schedule, according to Judge Morgan Reinman.

The judge in the trial of the man charged with killing Brevard County Deputy Barbara Pill two years ago said the process of questioning potential jurors has been slow going as attorneys ask the same questions of each one.

Reinman had said she wanted to begin with opening statements on Monday, March 10.

So far, lawyers have a short list of 29 jurors. They are trying to reach a pool of 40 to 50 before selecting the final jury of 12, plus three alternates.

Court also took an extra three days off this week after Friday's incident involving a gunman outside the Brevard County Courthouse. Deputies shot and killed Robert Striffler after a long standoff in the courthouse parking lot. It was later found that the gun Striffler was holding was an airsoft replica pistol.

Thursday marked two years since the deadly shooting of Deputy Pill. Her widower, Steve Pill, attended court for the first time Thursday since jury selected started the week before.
