Terror threats are no joke, and it appears a teenager on Twitter found that out the hard way after tweeting what she later admitted was a fake threat to American Airlines.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested Monday in the Netherlands, one day after this tweet was sent to American Airlines:

@AmericanAir hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye

American Airlines quickly replied:

We take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI.

Both the original tweet and the airline's reply were later deleted, but screenshots of the exchange quickly went viral Sunday.

The teen has since changed her username and protected her tweets, but not before a series of worried replies, each retweeted by other Twitter users following the exchange:

I'm ******* 14 years old, do they think I'm gonna blow up a plane or something. I'm just stupid okay

@AmericanAir I was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine

Omg I gained 3k followers today

At least I have something to tell at school tomorrow lol

I need a lawyer. Any lawyers on here?

The FBI did not comment on the Twitter exchange, but Dutch police in Rotterdam tweeted Monday that a 14-year-old girl there was arrested in connection to the American Airlines threat.
