A decorated U.S. Army veteran who lost his arm while serving overseas has a nifty new ride.

Specialist Robert Loria received the modified Toyota Rav4 at the New York International Auto Show, which is taking place April 18-27.

The vehicle has special instruments that make driving easier for Loria while using his prosthetic arm.

He also received a customized license plate that honors his Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals.

Loria said he's grateful for the new set of wheels.

"A little rough the first half of the year," Loria said. "I had a car, I ended up losing it for mechanical reasons, and this couldn't come at a better time."

Toyota donated the car.

Loria was chosen as the recipient by the Wounded Warrior Project, a group that helps veterans with combat injuries.
