Documents that was recently released show former Lt. Gov. Carroll failed to report income from two years that totaled approximately $200,000.

Carroll changed her income tax filings after being questioned by investigators.

They money in question was received from a purported veterans charity that's been accused of running an illegal gambling operation.

The Associated Press was able to obtain documents that show Carroll didn't report the total received from "Allied Veterans of the World" on her financial disclosure forms, nor did she report the earnings to the Internal Revenue Service.

The documents show Carroll was paid nearly $100,000 by "Allied Veterans of the World" in 2009, and again in 2010.

Carroll called the omissions an "oversight" and said she returned "overpayments" to Allied.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement concluded that Carroll did not commit a crime, but forwarded the case to the state's ethics commission to review.

Carroll resigned in 2013 when this initial investigation became public.
