The Bixlers were known for having a pretty ugly yard.

"It was not good," their friend Angela Hucke told us. "It was a bit of a disaster."

"We lost sprinklers and everything died," Diana Bexler explained. " It was just one disaster after another."

So without Bixler knowing, Hucke submitted a photo of her friend's Davenport yard to the Discovery Cove's "Landscape Your Lawn" contest. Out of all the entries, Discovery Cove's Facebook fans selected the Bixlers' "stuck in the mud" photo as the "winner."

On Earth Day, Diana and her husband were treated to a morning at Discovery Cove. While they played, 6 horticulturists from Discovery Cove turned a plot of dirt, basically, into a lush oasis. Hard to believe, but it only took them 2 hours.

We were the only local TV crew at the home to get Bixler's reaction when members of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment team "moved that SUV!" that she'd arrived in. She threw her hand over her mouth, gasped, and kept saying "Oh my gosh! Oh my goodness!" (WATCH her reaction in the short video clip up top).

Discovery Cove's horticulture team put in 10 species of plants. If you've been to th e park lately, some of the plants might look familiar.

"Don't you feel like you're in Discovery Cove?" Bixler asked us, soaking in her new environment.

Some of the species include Orange Bird of Paradise, Magnificent Croton, Dazzle Schefflera, Foxtail Fern and Ixora.

Mark Russell is the horticulture director for SeaWorld, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove. He explained that Bixler got to look at three rendering and pick her favorite layout. She also mentioned that she wanted a lot of color, hence the Dazzle.

"We moved the pygmy palm," Russell said, referring to the tree that was there originally, "and put in the larger plants first."

"I love the planters," a still-excited Bixler said. "They're so --- that is a touch I would never have imagined."

But what she might have to get used to is having neighbors no longer frowning at her front yard.

"I have a lot of people doing drive-bys!" she smiled.
