More than 300,000 people are expected to roll into Lake County this weekend, for the Leesburg Bikefest.

The 18th annual event kicked off Friday.

It's billed as the world’s largest three-day motorcycle and music event, featuring 70 concerts and 250 vendors over a 30 block area.

“It’s made us nationally known. Every restaurant for the next 72 hours is full, every hotel in a five county area is full,” Leesburg Commissioner David Knowles said.

“We got here Wednesday. There were probably 30 campers and tents now there’s probably a 1,000 in there,” Curt Petty, from Spring Hill Florida said.

Lake Express has added 54 bus stops in Downtown Leesburg this weekend hoping to account for some of the extra tourists.

Parking a vehicle that's anything other than a motorcycle could prove to be difficult though.

The city shut down the upper two levels of the city parking garage this month after holes in steel beams connecting the garage were discovered.

“We noticed some things were settling and just to be on the safe side, we’ve closed off the top two floors,” Commissioner Knowles said.

Despite the minor inconvenience the show must go on, with national acts Vanilla Ice, Jackyl, and Uncle Kracker performing. The event also features a Guinness Book of World Records attempt for longest chain of biker bandannas.

But for local vendors like graphic artist Mike Davis, the event means three days with an incredible boost to the local economy.

“I’m usually filling orders for months to come, this is a great way to network,” Davis said.
