A Lake County middle school student was taken into custody May 19 after he told deputies he had a plan to kill five teachers and then kill himself, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to East Ridge Middle School, in Clermont, last week in reference to an issue with a juvenile student. The school is located at 13201 Excalibur Road.

When deputies made contact with the student, he told them he had a knife in his pocket. Deputies located the knife and then took it.

The student then went on to explain that he had a "little black book" that contained drawings, a print out of the school and X-marks on it, according to a report.

The marks indicated the places where the student said he was going to kill his teachers. There were a total of five Xs in the book, the report states.

The student had written out a plan on how and where he would kill his teachers before he would go to the cafeteria "and kill himself in front of all of his peers," the report states.

The student had recently been suspended for 10 days, and school officials were looking to place the student in another school.

Parents were never notified about the incident, according to Chris Patton, of Lake County Public Schools.

The student was taken LifeStream Behavioral Center, in Leesburg, for evaluation.

Deputies also searched the student's bedroom at home for anything suspicious, but nothing was found. The student's father told deputies that "he is very concerned for his son's behavior and stated they never owned or carried any guns at the residence," the report states.

UPDATE: Why weren't parents told of student's plot to kill teachers?
